| What is the N3 Network? |

| The N3 Network provides the entire NHS with fast broadband networking services. Without N3 it would be impossible to deliver the increased efficiency and effectiveness aspirations of the NHS executive. The applications that support these improvement programmes require greater bandwidth than the earlier NHSnet and N2 networks could provide. |

| In facilitating programmes like the NHS Care Records Service, Choose and Book and the Electronic Transmission of Prescriptions, N3 is essential to the future of a modern NHS. It enables better care for patients and delivers a truly 21st century infrastructure. At its conception, it was the largest Virtual Private Network in Europe and was a project of a scale and complexity that has never been attempted before, in the UK or abroad. |

| InTechnology N3 connectivity services comprise of two products: |

| N3 Access - This service connects your sites to the N3 network using a cost-effective, secured, broad-band line. The service includes the circuit installation, the terminating router installation and configuration then ongoing pro-active system management/maintenance. With our N3 Services you are ready to exchange data between your pharmacy locations and the N3 spine. |

| Message Broker support - Customers opting to use a Centralised Message Handler (CMH) may use InTechnology's premises to host and/or manage their equipment. Alternatively, InTechnology will liaise with the CMH sponsor to ensure data is securely transmitted between pharmacy locations, the CMB branch, and the N3 Spine. |
